Instructions for Using
FTP
FTP (File Transfer
Protocol) is a way to send (upload) and receive (download) files over
the Internet. When our clients need information fast, we recommend
using FTP to transfer files.
To use FTP to transfer
files, follow these steps:
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD FTP SOFTWARE
Macintosh users
Option 1: Download a free ftp program.
Click
here. Install it on your computer.
Option 2:
Download a trial ftp program.
This ftp programs is a little more reliable
and has more features. http://fetchsoftworks.com/ Install
it on your computer.
Option 3: Use
your internet browser to connect to our ftp site.
(Safari, Internet
Explorer, etc.) ***Some browsers only let you download and not upload
files.
PC users
Option 1: Download a free ftp program.
Click here. Install it on your computer.
Option 2:
Download a trial ftp program.
This ftp programs is a little more reliable
and has more features. http://www.bpftp.com/ Install
it on your computer.
Option
3: Use your internet browser to connect to our ftp site.
(Fire Fox, Internet
Explorer, etc.) ***Some browsers only let you download and not
upload files.
STEP 2: CONNECT TO
THE INTERNET
Open your Internet
Browser connection.
If you are using a ftp program (Fetch, Bulletproof, CoreFTP, FTP Thingy,etc.)
launch the program.
STEP 3: CONNECT TO
COURIER FTP SERVER
If you are using
your browser follow A, if you are using an ftp program, follow B.
A)
With your Internet Browser, do the following:
- Type "ftp.courierprinting.com" (without
the quotation marks) in the Address line, then press ENTER.
- In
the User ID field, type "courier"
- In
the Password field, type "printing"
- Click Logon.
B) With your ftp
program, enter the following settings:
Host: ftp.courierprinting.com
User ID: courier
Password: printing
Directory: LEAVE BLANK
STEP 4: USE FTP - downloading a file FROM Courier
To pick up a file
from Courier:
- Open the Outgoing
folder.
- Highlight the
file you want and transfer it to the Outgoing folder.
To upload a file
TO Courier
- Open the Incoming
folder.
- Highlight the
file on your computer you want to send.
- Transfer it
to the Incoming folder.
Note: Please use
Binhex format to send uncompressed files. Use the Raw Data format
to send
compressed
files.

IMPORTANT! Always
compress your files (Stuff or Zip). This will help prevent data loss
that might make the files
unusable.
